2 Star Fitwell Rating achieved by 11 & 12 Wellington Place!

11 & 12 Wellington Place have been awarded a two-star Fitwel score in recognition of the commitment it has made to designing buildings which are both good for the environment and for the health of our community.

Fitwel is a industry leading commercial building certification scheme that provides guidelines on how to design and operate healthier buildings. The Fitwel certification uses a points system to measure a building credentials and it can be awarded between 1 and 3 stars. Some of the key drivers were:

Amenities to enhance work-life balance

High quality outdoor space and urban gardens with biodiverse landscaping

Fitness, running clubs and on-site gym

Maximised natural light

Living green wall in reception

Sustainable transport alternatives for staff / visitors & free bike hire

Site wide secure bike storage

Electric car charging points

On-Site vegetables patches, beehives and fruit trees

Working alongside development manager MEPC and contractor Wates, Mainer Associates has helped deliver Fitwel 2 Star accreditation which will enhancing the credentials of the Wellington Place estate.

Together with the development 6 phases before it, 11&12 Wellington Place now has also achieved BREEAM Outstanding, and Net Zero Carbon.

Recently the building has also become the first outside London - and only fourth in the UK - to achieve a NABERS Design for Performance rating of 5* or above.
